TAROTSCOPES | APRIL 8 - APRIL 14

II THE HIGH PRIESTESS

Sometimes the thoughts come knocking. Running up the road like a marathon of itches screaming to be scratched. A parade of catcalls your ego is dying to defend. Sometimes they announce themselves with grandeur, banging on the door of your consciousness like a salesman having a bad day. Or they arrive with S.W.A.T. like skills; effective ninjas breaking through the windows of your mind without a sound, only to creep up and catch you in a conversation you know you needn’t be having with someone who isn’t there.

This week, no matter how stealthy the intruder, you pretend to not be home. Commit to your inner quiet. To enough stillness for you to hear the only important call. The High Priestess begs our presence with ourselves. Demands we set aside the fight we were so set on having. Challenges us to put down our phones for more than four minutes, four hours, four days if you can stand it. Solicits us to sit in the unknown until we remember that we do know. That the house of our heart has doors to which only we have the key. Sometimes, we’re so distracted by the chatter life throws at us that we don’t realize we left the windows open in a freak storm. That the curtains are drenched and ripped and glass lies broken in puddles on the floor. That we left the door to our heart ajar - sometimes a kindness for a cold soul, but in this case, without intention, indicating incredible unconscious sacrifice when we let our personal creepies crawl under our skin. How can we possibly commit to true connection with others when we can’t create it with ourselves? If we can’t stand to hold ourselves in our minds eye for more than a moment, how can we ask another to give us the same undivided attention?

Bring yourself back long enough to observe the state of your heart home. If the naggers keep poking at your mind, commit to neglecting them. Cultivating enough presence will kill any fiery fight that wasn’t meant to be fought. Meanwhile, it will also continue to kindle the flame that fuels your most potent purpose. Take the space and trust that your fire won’t abandon you; your spark won’t go out. Realize what reconnection looks like. Close the portals to the pleas and appeals disguised as worthy distractions. They can be addressed when your space is safe again. Ask your heart “how are you?”. Offer it a cup of water. Make its bed in meditation. Less thinking, more awareness of what is. Keep it simple. Be here now. Notice the light inside you from which your whole multiverse reflects.

WHAT EVEN IS A TAROTSCOPE? We often think of horoscopes as predictions that are specific to each astrological sign. In Ancient Greek, the term horoscope simply means "I watch the hour." To astrologers today, a horoscope is a chart that maps the planetary bodies in the sky. From this chart, we derive meaning that can influence how we work with energy. Regardless of our unique individual charts, we are ALL working with the same energy from above. Each week, I examine this energy, pull a tarot card and write a guided meditation with the collective in mind. My tarotscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. Please note that because we are all operating with our individual energy, some elements will resonate more than others. Take what you like and leave the rest. Tarotscopes are offered freely in an effort to cultivate collective healing. I am always grateful for your support in sharing this work with anyone you think it might help. If you are inspired or find support here, please consider making a donation to help sustain these weekly offerings.
