TAROTSCOPES | JUNE 25 - JULY 1

III THE HIGH PRIESTESS

Mars in Aquarius activates a frenzy of ideas and impressions that might lead to anxiety. Mars retrograde in Aquarius sees so many possibilities that it struggles to take action. Mars in this placement is a missile that might be late to reach its target because it was busy trying not to miss the point. Or perhaps, Mars retrograde helps us arrive right on time. This week, the High Priestess takes a seat inside us and asks us to pause. As our inner action-taker turns around, we’re given a unique opportunity to observe our patience without operating on a table that hasn’t been prepped, cleaned and cleared for surgery. To practice awareness and acceptance without having to respond at unreasonably rapid rates. On the other hand, this motion of turning can lead to incredible frustration, desire to change without knowing where to go.

The High Priestess is the inner warrior of everything we feel but cannot put to words. She stirs the darkest elements of our being into consciousness so our movements match the message we truly want to mail. She is a guide through the forest of giving every fuck and she has a fancy for extracting the facts from our feelings. Embodied in a child who has not yet learned the layered societal “shoulds”, she is the kid psychic who treasures every type. She tosses class aside so she can course to the core of every creature. Her guttural instincts place priceless value on souls despite the surface of their skin, the expression of their affections or the pile of pennies in their bank. She is wise to the worthiness of every being and wishes for the purity of power-with principles.

I asked the High Priestess, “What are you here to teach me, really? How can I show up better?” May her answer support you as you move through this heavy moment and forward to ventures that value every voice.

Be still child. Take time as you spin this complicated web. Observe and trust with doubt but with sincerity. Sincerely express your questions to the world. Offer wisdom where you are sure. Refrain from speaking in the shadows where another might shed light. Listen to the light. And the dark. Listen for the subtleties. The voice of synchronicity that requires silence and stillness to be heard. If you don’t slow down how can you see the silk the spider spins? If you don’t sit still long enough how can you mirror the morning glory who opens itself slowly like the rare, soft but strong sound singing from a single trumpet? If you can’t bathe in the battle of your own inner demons how can you know when you are bleeding? Especially when the world is bleeding. If you can’t feel the blood rush between your legs*, how can you relate with wisdom and empathy to another woman? If you cannot receive, how can you have anything to give? If you cannot open yourself to pain, how can you distinguish between suffering and joy? If you cannot acknowledge your privilege, how can you express your desire to lift others up to experience it with you? If you cannot see where you have been silenced, how can you break it? If you cannot retreat from the throng of open tabs, the onslaught of mobile notifications and the relentless smash of stories on social media, how can you understand how you truly feel about the affairs of the world? If you cannot know what is right, deep within the fibers of your soul, how can your inner sage show itself through your drive and gestures?

There will be time to act. There is time to act now. But this is not a race. It is not a game, not a moment to gamble. This week, the High Priestess steers us back to the source of our divine power. She means to make us see that magic without consciousness is dead. She takes Mars under her wing as he stations retrograde so we can consider the concepts that coax us into action. She sways with the fullness of the Capricorn Moon, meant to help us account for our endeavors and take measure of their effects in the realm of who is accounted for, owed and honored. She digs into the past to help us dream a better future. Most of you, my audience, already understand on an integral level, the problems and plights that face our society. Some of you may be unaware. If this is you, I encourage you, gently, to watch the news and take it seriously. Take yourself seriously. Take serious time and space to divine your own feelings about the facts that face us.

*Let us remember that there are all types of women who do not bleed physically but are still women.

WHAT EVEN IS A TAROTSCOPE? We often think of horoscopes as predictions that are specific to each astrological sign. In Ancient Greek, the term horoscope simply means "I watch the hour." To astrologers today, a horoscope is a chart that maps the planetary bodies in the sky. From this chart, we derive meaning that can influence how we work with energy. Regardless of our unique individual charts, we are ALL working with the same energy from above. Each week, I examine this energy, pull a tarot card and write a guided meditation with the collective in mind. My tarotscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. Please note that because we are all operating with our individual energy, some elements will resonate more than others. Take what you like and leave the rest. Tarotscopes are offered freely in an effort to cultivate collective healing. I am always grateful for your support in sharing this work with anyone you think it might help. If you are inspired or find support here, please consider making a donation to help sustain these weekly offerings.
