SIX OF PENTACLES

This Sunday salutes us with a Full Moon in Scorpio, sending us all into this week with an energy that demands our radical and penetrating release. With the sun in the sign of wealth, this phase of the lunar cycle is here to teach us about the bonds that bind and burden us. The scorpion, in its lowest octave, is acutely attached. It wants to ascertain that the thing it adores will be there forever to catch it in case it falls. But the scorpion doesn’t plan on falling and if it did it certainly wouldn’t let you see it fail. It gives nothing, for fear you’ll use its feelings against it. It endures endlessly until it’s ready to pry itself off the beam. If it’s going to die, it’ll be by its own doing because the thing that scares Scorpio the most is losing control - of itself. In its lowest octave, bloodlust for self preservation pushes Scorpio to control all the elements in its environment. It digs up every dirty detail and hangs tight, lest it need the laundry to strangle the sibling that pushes one step too far. But this temper, while tortured, is tempted to trust because relief reaches us when hyper-vigilance recedes. Scorpio isn’t known for its power for nothing. Every sign has a balanced and unbalanced expression and in its highest octave, the Scorpion embodies the eagle that hovers high above any squabble or squawking. It gathers the gumption to stay out of the gossip and grants its time and trust to the underdog. To the one who’s deemed most ugly and irritating but needs the most affection. Scorpio is benevolently concerned with anything it knows won’t hurt it because it recognizes the power of mutual pain shared and understood. It gives of itself to heal the hurts that can only be supported with something more sincere than sympathy and more tangible than dissociative touching. It offers unmistakable empathy which yields mega metamorphosis when it opens the door enough to let love out and therefore in. This energy will continue to coarse through us this week, asking us to break the barricades we’ve built to control the flow that’s now stopped but could be free and fluid.

Meanwhile, Venus in Gemini helps out our willingness to make adjustments. To change our decisions to match our misses and make the most of our second swings. This first week of May flowers, while quieter than the shared and stressful showers of April, offers us an abundance of opportunities to do it again. To do it differently. To stop beating our heads against the wall and our mouths around the bush. Venus in Gemini wants to win us over with her wisdom and her wily words. She wants to connect but isn’t concerned with finding the perfect pair because everytime she puts herself in someone else’s shoes she learns the art of progress over perfection. Venus in Gemini is a verb for virtue found in variety. Kissed by her curiosity, she’s here to help us connect with our inner kid, put a little fun in our flirt and laughter in the bank that bets we’ve got enough banter to sidle up to the lass who’s tearing up the monkey bars with a sweet set of girl guns.

The Six of Pentacles advises us to garner a grosser understanding of our relationship to give and take. To grasp what it means to get gifted the long end of the stick and how to share it. To release what we thought would get us the thing that really gets us guilty for hanging on instead of having given all we could. This week, notice where you’re straining to retain something or someone who isn’t serving you even a small cup of soup. See how offering up a bigger bowl of yourself lifts the spirits of a stranger. See how much fuller you feel when you take a little less control and instead (l)et (o)thers (v)oluntarily (e)volve. Listen to your limits as you list your nos and your I don’t knows. Try to tackle terror head-on by teaming up with trust in your values and your own ability judge the gap before you jump through hoops and get a pile of definitely not the prize you had your eye on. Spring off the beam you’ve built for yourself so you can find common ground with your group. Offer a little more of your presence and a lot less from your pride. Then watch where you get a lotta likes when you like yourself first because you’re providing you with everything you need and then some to the people who need it most.

WHAT EVEN IS A TAROTSCOPE? We often think of horoscopes as predictions that are specific to each astrological sign. In Ancient Greek, the term horoscope simply means "I watch the hour." To astrologers today, a horoscope is a chart that maps the planetary bodies in the sky. From this chart, we derive meaning that can influence how we work with energy. Regardless of our unique individual charts, we are ALL working with the same energy from above. Each week, I examine this energy, pull a tarot card and write a guided meditation with the collective in mind. My tarotscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. Please note that because we are all operating with our individual energy, some elements will resonate more than others. Take what you like and leave the rest. Tarotscopes are offered freely in an effort to cultivate collective healing. I am always grateful for your support in sharing this work with anyone you think it might help. If you are inspired or find support here, please consider making a donation to help sustain these weekly offerings.
