FATHER OF SWORDS
The Father of Swords leads with confidence. Confides with charisma. Considers with a multi-angled consciousness that cuts through to the core of any unequal balance of power. The Father of Swords builds capacity through his willingness to redistribute the wealth in the form of reciprocity.
This week, as the Sun and Mercury hit the high players in Capricorn, we’re gifted opportunities to examine our part in every dynamic. In his fall, the Father of Swords plays a game of blame. Focuses on how others are in error. Faults them for their absence. Emphasizes wrongs done unto him without softening into a sentient style that can tip the scales in his favor. As a leader, the Father often chooses ignorance rather than own up to the work of trend-setting fair-play.
But in his most divine expression, the Father of Swords is a sight for sweet eyes. Communicates with care rather than criticism. Arranges his understanding to see where he can support an activation of power in whomever has the least access. Owns his responsibility to educate himself when he has the privilege of being any kind of “centered norm.” Recognizes that being revolved around strips him of the power to empathize with anyone who has to do double the consciousness raising just to survive. The Father of Swords will take on the work of orienting himself to the outside of circles he’d like to connect.
The Father of Swords is emblematic of Libra. A lover of just law. This week, examine the commandments that keep you small. The conditioned codes that bind you in the bliss of ignorance which eats away at your conscience when you give them the slightest glance. As a Cardinal sign, Libra is an initiator who leads by example. Ruled by Venus who offers herself as evidence of bright potential futures. Changes the ideal aesthetic by changing her own embodiment of it. Stand up for what you believe in, rather than flocking through herds of sheep. Affirm what is wrong with a situation while setting aside worries of how you’ll be perceived in your proclamations. Channel angry energy into a code that changes the game into one you want to play. Align yourself with any allies who trust you enough to call you out. Often we don’t speak up against wrongdoings because we’re afraid we’ll be reprimanded. In silencing our instincts to support, we further repress stories that most need to be heard. The Father of Swords pierces the heart of a matter by locating the underdog and lifting them up as an equal. By recognizing that “underdogs” are products of corrupt systems rather than genuine worth. He is neither slave nor sovereign. He is most certainly not a savior. His greatest skill is in recognizing himself as having one small but very significant part to play in the great orchestra of interconnected existence. And simply playing it.
WHAT EVEN IS A TAROTSCOPE? We often think of horoscopes as predictions that are specific to each astrological sign. In Ancient Greek, the term horoscope simply means "I watch the hour." To astrologers today, a horoscope is a chart that maps the planetary bodies in the sky. From this chart, we derive meaning that can influence how we work with energy. Regardless of our unique individual charts, we are ALL working with the same energy from above. Each week, I examine this energy, pull a tarot card and write a guided meditation with the collective in mind. My tarotscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. Please note that because we are all operating with our individual energy, some elements will resonate more than others. Take what you like and leave the rest. Tarotscopes are offered freely in an effort to cultivate collective healing. I am always grateful for your support in sharing this work with anyone you think it might help. If you are inspired or find support here, please consider making a donation to help sustain these weekly offerings.
