TAROTSCOPES | DECEMBER 17 - 22
II OF WANDS
The end of this week contains a heavy dose of unpredictability, that slides easily (and perhaps sweetly) down your throat if you can get excited about the medicine of truth that awaits. As the Sun in Sagittarius trines Uranus in Aries, a fire is ignited under all the faith we might want to affirm for ourselves. You can be true in the weaving of your story without tying knots in someone else’s tale. On Friday, Venus in Scorpio waltzes into a trine with Neptune in Pisces. While this might not be the most stabilizing of aspects, it does allow the floodgates of empathy, understanding and compassion to open. Meanwhile, Mercury joins Jupiter in Sagittarius, whirling excitedly, delightedly, perhaps with a touch too much dogma. Be willing to share and receive. Remember that healthy empathy means truly listening, not only with your ears, but with your energetic body, to another’s experiences without spinning their story into what it means for you. You can tap into their emotions without being overcome or allowing them to alter your own.
Finally, the Sun asserts itself into firm ground in Capricorn on Friday, marking the Solstice point where it turns to lighten our worlds again. The Sun is immediately followed by a sensitive Full Moon in Cancer early Saturday. The phases of the Moon and Sun together mark various cycles in our lives. The Solstice is an end and a beginning. Likewise, Full Moons generally mark culminations but this Moon sits at 0°, the very beginning of the sign of Cancer. With such a concentration of energy at the end of this week, we are given the gumption, fueled by our experiences, feelings and faith, to end unproductive patterns and initiate novel ideas.
The formula for this week is to act with consciousness but not with an outcome in mind. Change, results, shifts in life are inevitable but rarely come in one giant plunge of effort. Endeavors allow progress over time; are slow but rewarding. Sometimes though, the universe has plan for quick and potent adjustments. These alterations have little to do with our labor and it’s a relief how much is actually not on our shoulders. That said, exercising, testing, arching and extending the magic of our energy to the world is useful when we remain open to possibilities of unexpected support.
While aces symbolize the elements in their purest form, twos represent the initial appearance of each alchemical aspect. Energy expressed consciously. The grounding of potential into something great. Twos are thus, the ideal form of execution. While the ones are the energy itself, twos offer us the essential quality of consciousness. Awareness grants access to wield our will.
Fire, in its most untouched expression, is pure will. The Two of Wands is passion professed but not forced. Energy conveyed but not controlled for the sake of any purpose. The key to embodying the Two of Wands involves less thinking, planning, and strategizing. It is simple fire. Avoid the path of manipulating outcomes. Rest or revel in the ardor of the moment. Delight as the way illuminates itself at your feet. Trust your own energy as it arrives for you. Remove the obstructions, internal blocks that are keeping you from cutting to your own chase. Remember what it was like to be a kid, enjoying the chase for chase’s sake. Let yourself play a little tag in life. In your process, you’re always it.
WHAT EVEN IS A TAROTSCOPE? We often think of horoscopes as predictions that are specific to each astrological sign. In Ancient Greek, the term horoscope simply means "I watch the hour." To astrologers today, a horoscope is a chart that maps the planetary bodies in the sky. From this chart, we derive meaning that can influence how we work with energy. Regardless of our unique individual charts, we are ALL working with the same energy from above. Each week, I examine this energy, pull a tarot card and write a guided meditation with the collective in mind. My tarotscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. Please note that because we are all operating with our individual energy, some elements will resonate more than others. Take what you like and leave the rest. Tarotscopes are offered freely in an effort to cultivate collective healing. I am always grateful for your support in sharing this work with anyone you think it might help. If you are inspired or find support here, please consider making a donation to help sustain these weekly offerings.
