TAROTSCOPES | OCTOBER 15 - OCTOBER 21

THE STAR

Deep in a Libra season that seems to resonate on the daily more with Scorpio, a hidden stitch of disconnection and dis-ease sews itself between the seams as we attempt to patch a hole that might not be ready for repair. Still here, together in a sense, but separate. Perhaps we feel welcome, but not passionately wanted. It is crucial to remember that there is a difference between our experience of a situation and its objective quality.

The planetary configurations offer us an ego battle embedded with lessons. We may struggle to establish stability. We reach desperately for a hold of trust. In the wake of something that feels like (but isn’t necessarily) abandonment and rejection, we may be fighting to acknowledge the strength of our will, our wanting, or our sense of being wished for. We attempt to settle in the space of not knowing. We feel amiss, avoided, left alone by something indeterminately aloof. But Libra, ever asserting her consciousness, allows us the gift of the ability to mirror. Pain turns to medicine when we can sit long enough with the richness of our reality and begin to match detachment with our love.

Hope. Accept. Love. Resist. Release. Rest. Repeat. As Libra’s ruler Venus makes her long-drawn-out retrograde journey back through the early degrees of Scorpio, this is her pattern. Our surrender contains our ability to transform our situations.

This week, the Star assigns itself to our service. Honors our reality by holding us far away from it, where we can see with the expert eyes of an external onlooker. When partnerships are puzzling, unpleasant or piercing, our relationships to our greater community become a foothold we cannot afford not to find.

The Star’s soft light comes alive when we are at our most listless. When we need nothing but to lean into languor. When we require permission to pause. When we need a group that is bigger and wiser and more capable than what we can achieve alone.

The Star encourages ample space between us and our aches. Offers kind eyes and loving arms that hold us while we make peace with a mess. The Star is your hope in the wake of whatever sorrow. It is the candle you must light for all you would have if you could. It does not promise a particular future but it insists you allow your personal needs and desires to be a possibility.

This week, give yourself the benefit before and behind every doubt. Gather with groups that feel good when partnerships are grueling. Watch your ability to detach rise and fall like breath on a chest. Take comfort in the impermanent character of your rage. Observe how the force of any fury is exaggerated when in relationship to those you love the most. Admire the potency of your affection and when you can, accept and admit your powerlessness how powerful a hold your love has on you. Sigh as the waves of grace wash you clean of any guilt for the care you cannot control.

WHAT EVEN IS A TAROTSCOPE? We often think of horoscopes as predictions that are specific to each astrological sign. In Ancient Greek, the term horoscope simply means "I watch the hour." To astrologers today, a horoscope is a chart that maps the planetary bodies in the sky. From this chart, we derive meaning that can influence how we work with energy. Regardless of our unique individual charts, we are ALL working with the same energy from above. Each week, I examine this energy, pull a tarot card and write a guided meditation with the collective in mind. My tarotscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. Please note that because we are all operating with our individual energy, some elements will resonate more than others. Take what you like and leave the rest. Tarotscopes are offered freely in an effort to cultivate collective healing. I am always grateful for your support in sharing this work with anyone you think it might help. If you are inspired or find support here, please consider making a donation to help sustain these weekly offerings.
